Tokat - Life Strikes Back

Kerem, Dönmez and Hakan belonged to one of the infamous youth gangs in Frankfurt, which also existed in many other German cities, in the 90s. Drug trafficking, drug-related crime, grievous bodily injury and death - their reputation spread rapidly, not least due to the coverage in local and national media. Back then, every day was a party for them - nobody thought about tomorrow. More than 20 years have passed since then and Kerem, Dönmez and Hakan have grown up. Their lives hardly show any parallels: Kerem's health was destroyed by his heroin consumption at the time. As a painter, he earns an extra income on top of his early retirement. Dönmez was deported to Turkey, is a family man and works in an apple juice factory. Hakan was also deported to Turkey, works as a field worker at the foot of Mount Ararat and no longer has citizenship and is therefore unable to act in his home country.
